Vivek Krishnamurthy is an Associate Professor of Law and Director of the Samuelson-Glushko Technology Law and Policy Clinic (TLPC) at the University of Colorado Law School.
Vivek’s research extends longstanding principles of international law to the governance of digital infrastructure. His recent article in the Yale Law Journal argues that core internet infrastructure should be governed under the centuries-old legal regime that regulates navigation through international straits, such as the Strait of Hormuz. As a faculty associate at the Berkman Klein Center this year, Vivek plans to explore how pre-Westphalian conceptions of governmental authority as disconnected from territory can help accommodate the growing desire of many states for greater "digital sovereignty" over the technologies that have become vital to everyday life.
