Joanne Armitage is a digital media practitioner, researcher and artist. 

She is an Associate Professor in Critical Digital Practice at the University of Leeds and Faculty Associate at the Berkman Klein Centre for Internet and Society. She is co-founder of the maker-activist collective sus_NET and Co-Founder of the Critical Digital Practice Lab, developing methods to critically engage with and rebuild technology alongside activist and community groups. As Principal Investigator, she has led projects including Sustainable Making for Feminist Action and Making Spaces. Joanne co-convenes the Digital Futures Research Group at Leeds and leads the BA Digital Media programme.
