Caroline Woolard is Executive Director and CEO of Pollinator.coop, a network, annual program, and fund for alumni of over 400 fellowships internationally.
As Head of Foundations in the Department of Art and Design at Montclair State University, she builds curriculum and oversees the first-year program for five hundred students. Her practice draws on critical design, political organizing, art history, science and technology studies, and critical university studies. She is co-author of two reports commissioned by national grantmaking organizations, Solidarity Not Charity (Grantmakers in the Arts, 2021) and Spirits and Logistics (Center for Cultural Innovation, 2022), and three books: Making and Being (Pioneer Works, 2019), a guide for educators on interdisciplinary collaboration co-authored with Susan Jahoda; Art, Engagement, Economy (Onomatopee, 2020), on managing socially engaged and public art projects; and TRADE SCHOOL: 2009–2019, a history of the barter-based learning network she co-founded. Her work has been commissioned by and exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, and Creative Time, and has been the subject of scholarly writing in the Brooklyn Rail (2018), Artforum (2016), Art in America (2016), the New York Times (2016), and South Atlantic Quarterly (2015). Her work was also featured twice on Art21's New York Close Up series, broadcast on PBS (2014, 2016).
